The February 2nd 2026 Special Meeting of the Waldo Township Board was called to order at 815 pm by Craig Wettstein. Present for the meeting was Ronnie Cooper, Jaron Schlipf , Joel Ruthe, Dave Roth, Kelli Peterson, and Craig Wettstein. There was a discussion regarding the need for additional bank accounts due to the upcoming Panther Ridge Wind Farm project . Jaron Schlipf made a motion to open two accounts with Flanagan State bank, one account called “wind turbine road improvements” and the 2nd called “wind turbine equipment and capital improvements”. Ronnie Cooper seconded that motion to open those accounts. An authorization to investigate cd’s and other types of high interest accounts at a financial institution of Craig’s discretion was approved by the same board members.
Dave Roth explained road use agreement construction plans and decisions that were made recently. Currently waiting for drainage study to be done and then the project will be ready to proceed. More meetings to follow with the project team.
Discussion regarding how to communicate the project’s information to the township’s residents. A discussion about potential postcards with the mail to the residents of the township in addition to the existing website. A motion to adjourn the meeting at 930 by Ronnie Cooper and a 2nd by Joel Ruthe.
